RADAR AND LASER BANDS
The TPX Radar and Laser detection system detects the X, K and Ka radar bands. It does not detect the Ku band, currently used in France and UK. The Ka band is a Super Wide Ka band.
It also detects laser guns, but it is not a jammer: it will only warn you of the presence of a laser gun. But you can connect your TPX system to a jammer system, to receive all the alerts in one place (Visual Alert and/or Wireless Headset), with the aux connection "Laser" (available in early 2009).

INTEGRATE TO A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The TPX system has an aux-out audio jack (female / 3.5mm) to allow the integration with your existing communication or sound system, and avoiding the need of wearing two headsets. In this case, you don't need to buy the Wireless Headset.

WATER RESISTANT
All the TPX system components (Main Console, Wireless Headset and Visual Alert) are water resistant. In the Images & Videos page you can see a demo. But we advise not to expose the units to moisture for extended periods of time, or leaving it under the rain when not in use. Never sumerge in water or use a high pressure water hose.

IS THERE ANY BATTERY OPERATED VERSION?
NO. Radar detectors, to be effective, need to scan continously all the speed radar frequencies. This scanning process needs a lot of power. That's why battery operated radar detectors have a poor performance and the battery usage is very high.

DOES THE TPX HAS ANY COMPETITOR?
In reality, no. There are some car models (Beltronics, Valentine, Escort, etc) that can be adapted to a bike, but they all have the same problems: they are not water resistant, they don't have an effective way to alert the driver and are difficult to use with gloves.
